2 dead after double shooting at Ellesmere and Victoria Park, police say

A man and a woman are dead following a shooting in Scarborough on Friday night, police say.

A man and a woman are dead following a shooting in Scarborough on Friday night, police say.

Toronto police say they were called to a parking lot near Ellesmere Road and Victoria Park Avenue around 9:50 p.m. on Friday.

Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook told CBC News the two victims were rushed to hospital. Toronto paramedics deputy commander Dan Hunter confirmed both victims were in critical condition at the time.

Police said the victims later died of their injuries.

Homicide detectives are heading to the scene.

Police didn't release any suspect information but said a male driver was seen fleeing southbound on Victoria Park in a light-coloured minivan immediately after the shooting.
