Toronto police identify man killed in Rexdale shooting

Toronto police have identified the 33-year-old Toronto man who was shot and killed in the city's Rexdale neighbourhood early Saturday.

Toronto police have identified the 33-year-old Toronto man who was shot and killed in the city's Rexdale neighbourhood early Saturday.

It happened at a Toronto Community Housing complex near Martin Grove and Albion roads just before 12:30 a.m.

Police say they got several calls reporting gunshots in the area. When officers arrived, a large crowd had gathered.

Yonis Mohamed was found with several gunshot wounds and was rushed in life-threatening condition to hospital, where he later died.

Police said a grey vehicle was seen fleeing the area but no other suspect information was released.

Anyone with information is urged to call police.
