Rengel's killer charged in prison attack
A Toronto man who killed 14-year-old Stefanie Rengel is now facing an attempted murder charge after an attack at Millhaven Institution in Bath, Ont.
The 34-year-old victim suffered severe but non-life-threatening injuries.
Bagshaw was shot by corrections officers during the assault, and while his injuries were not life-threatening, another inmate who was shot died.
Bagshaw was just four days shy of his 18th birthday when he lured Rengel from her home, stabbed her six times and left her to die in a snowbank. He had been urged to carry out the killing by his jealous girlfriend.
He was sentenced to life in prison.
