Police are searching for a suspect after they found a gun in a BMW at the scene of a hit-and-run collision near Dufferin Street and Dundas Street West.

Officers were called to the scene of a crash between a BMW and a taxi around 12:50 p.m. on Saturday.

When they arrived, the man in the BMW had run off and officers found a gun in the car, according to an official at 14 Division.

Authorities initially closed off College Street at Dufferin Street and Dovercourt Road as they ramped up the search for the suspect. A TTC bus was also thought to have been involved and was held at the scene.

No arrests have been made. Police said on Sunday they are continuing to investigate.
