They say all good things must come to an end.

For the last three years, Alex Thorne, 13, of Pickering has had the coolest job a kid could have: chief play officer for Toys R Us.

But his teenage years mean retirement is upon him.

"I'm kind of sad that I'm leaving this job, I mean I can't keep this job forever, I can't hog the awesomeness of this job," said Alex.

The 13-year-old completed his last toy test this week.

Toys R Us would send Alex toys, he would play with them, and do interviews about how 'awesome' the toys are.

He is set to retire this December when he turns 14.

The search is now on to find the new chief play officer.
