Parkdale residents will be able to shop at Vi's No Frills on King Street West as of April 20 following a closure for roof repairs.

South Parkdale residents who were worried their local No Frills would be closed for good can let out a sigh of relief.

Vi's No Frills on King Street West near Jameson Avenue is set to open on April 20 at 8 a.m., according to Kevin Groh, vice president of corporate affairs and communications at Loblaw Companies Limited.

The company temporarily closed the location on Dec. 8 for immediate roof repairs, which caused concern for residents who thought the store would remain closed indefinitely. They also thought the land would be redeveloped into condos.

During the closure, complimentary shuttle buses have been running every 15 minutes to take customers in South Parkdale to another No Frills location 10 minutes away at Dundas Street and Lansdowne Avenue.
