The Canadian Border Services Agency said it found 13 kilograms of opium at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

Officials said the opium, with an estimated value of over $820,000, was in a shipment from Iran labeled "spare parts" on Jan. 9.

The opium was found when shock absorbers that would not compress were X-rayed.

It was handed over to the RCMP.

In 2011, the CBSA seized 73 kilograms of opium with a value exceeding $4.3 million at GTA airports, postal and cargo processing facilities
