Man charged with murder in Garden Restaurant shooting appears in court

A man wanted in connection with a high profile shooting in downtown Toronto in November appeared in court today.

A man wanted in connection with a high profile shooting in downtown Toronto in November appeared in court today.

On Tuesday, police charged Abdirisak Yusuf Ibrahim with first-degree murder and robbery after he and two other men shot three patrons at the popular Garden Restaurant on Dundas Street West near University Avenue.

In January, police arrested Marcus Gibson, 22, and Ceyon Carrington, 28. They were both charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm in relation to the shooting.

Tariq Mohammed, 31, of Mississauga, was fatally shot in the incident. Police said the two other shooting victims had non-life-threatening injuries.

Last month, police in Regina believed Ibrahim was in the city and asked the public for information on his whereabouts. They said he was also wanted on drug trafficking charges in Saskatchewan.
