Jean Marmoreo of Toronto, 71, fastest in her age group at Boston Marathon, again
Toronto doctor, 71-year-old Jean Marmoreo, was the fastest woman in her age group to cross the finish line at the recent Boston Marathon.
Toronto's Jean Marmoreo was the fastest woman in her age group to cross the finish line at the recent Boston Marathon.
The 71-year-old family physician finished the Boston course in three hours, 58 minutes and 54 seconds. That was the top time among women, aged 70 to 74, in the race.
But it wasn’t the first time that Marmoreo had blazed a 42.2-kilometre path to victory in a marathon.
Prior to this year’s Boston Marathon, Marmoreo had been the best in her age group in marathons in Ottawa, Chicago, Berlin and in Washington, D.C.
On top of that, Marmoreo was also the fastest woman in her age group at last year’s Boston Marathon.
