Southern Ontario will be buffeted by high winds today according to a special weather statement from Environment Canada.

Winds between 40 and 60 km/h from the southwest, with gusts of up to 80 km/h are expected in the Toronto area and elsewhere in the province as a ridge of high pressure from the eastern U.S. meets a low pressure system over Quebec.

By early morning the temperature in downtown Toronto was 2C, but with the wind it felt like -4C.
