Group opposes plan to bring Loblaws to Kensington Market
A group of protesters took to the streets of Kensington Market this weekend to show their opposition to seeing a Loblaws grocery store set up shop in the neighbourhood.
A group of protesters took to the streets of Kensington Market this weekend to show their opposition to seeing a Loblaws grocery store set up shop in the neighbourhood.
There are plans to build a 20,000-square foot Loblaws on the second floor of a forthcoming condo development near College Street and Spadina Avenue.
But a group known as the Friends of Kensington Market say that the presence of a large grocery store will do more harm than good for the neighbourhood.
