GO Transit will introduce bus and train service to its new Gormley station on Monday.

On weekdays, GO Transit says trains will run every half hour to Toronto's Union Station during the morning rush hour and northbound to the new station during the evening rush hour.

Buses will also run between Gormley and Union Station throughout the day and into the night when trains aren't running.

The station has 850 parking spaces, a bus loop, a kiss-and-ride area and heated shelters for the winter.

Gormley also has a fully accessible platform.

To kick off the launch of the station, GO Transit hosted an event on Sunday where members of the public got a free train ride as well as got an opportunity to take a look at a new GO bus and meet the GO bear mascot and transit safety officers.

The new station is located in Richmond Hill on Stouffville Road between Highway 404 and Leslie Street.
