In one incident, fire destroyed a school portable overnight as flames were sent high into the air at R.H. King Academy, in the Kingston Road and St Clair Avenue East area, at around 3 a.m.

Although classes are on at the school, some students will have to be moved, as all power has been cut to the portables.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Meanwhile, arson is suspected in a fire in the west end of Scarborough.

Officials said fire ripped through a roti shop in a strip mall at Sheppard Ave. and Pharmacy Ave. at around 2:30 a.m. Police said the back door of the store was open when they arrived.
