Extreme cold lingers in Toronto
Cold alerts remain in effect as termpatures feel below - 30 with the wind chill
It’s another extremely cold day in Toronto as well as the rest of the province, with wind chill warnings remaining in effect.
Today’s high of – 14 C will feel more like – 34 with the extreme wind chill. The winds are moving at 30 km/h, gusting to nearly 50.
Extreme cold alerts remain in effect in the GTA. The alerts ensure that services for the homeless, including shelter space, are increased.
The city has already had more cold alerts this month than in recent years.
There’s little in the way of comfort this week. Environment Canada says the frigid arctic air mass will last further into the week, with warmer temperatures arriving by the weekend.
