E-bike operator dead following crash with van in North York
Victim is a 44-year-old man, police say
A 44-year-old man has died following a crash between the e-bike and a van in North York, Toronto police say.
The crash happened in the area of Wilson Avenue and Cornelius Parkway, just east of Keele Street, around 9 p.m. on Saturday. It involved a white GMC van that was travelling eastbound on Wilson Avenue.
Police say the driver of the van turned left into the path of the e-bike — which was also eastbound on Wilson Avenue — and the two vehicles collided.
Paramedics transported the e-bike operator to hospital via emergency run.
At 10:51 p.m., police said via Twitter that the person had died in hospital.
Members of Toronto Police Traffic Services are investigating. They are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
