Toronto police say they have identified a body found on Sunday near a creek in the Tineta Crescent and Invergordon Avenue area of Scarborough, and the death is no longer considered suspicious.

Police say they have identified a body found on Sunday near a creek in the Tineta Crescent and Invergordon Avenue area of Scarborough, and the death is no longer considered suspicious.

Toronto police say they have identified a body found on Sunday near a creek in the Tineta Crescent and Invergordon Avenue area of Scarborough, and  they say the death is no longer considered suspicious.

A pedestrian found the body at the base of the bridge on Invergordon Avenue near a creek. It was without any identification, police said.

Earlier Tuesday, Const. David Hopkinson said an investigation had been launched and the death was being treated as suspicious until police had information indicating otherwise.

By Tuesday evening, police said the man had been identified and thanked the public for its assistance.
