A woman is in serious but non-life-threatening condition after she was struck and pinned under a car while riding her bicycle in the Distillery District.

Toronto police said they received calls from the Trinity Street and Distillery Lane area just before 2 p.m. for reports of a car jumping a curb, striking the cyclist and hitting a corner of a nearby building.

Police say a passerby tried to free the woman by lifting the vehicle.

Police say the woman was conscious and breathing when they arrived, but did sustain serious injuries.

Both her bicycle and a small tree were crushed under the vehicle.
