Child, 1, seriously injured in Brampton house explosion
Paramedics say 3 others also hurt
Four people, including a one-year-old girl, were injured in a house explosion in Brampton on Tuesday, emergency officials say.
Peel police say they were called about an explosion in the area of Humberwest Parkway and Cottrelle Boulevard just before 1:30 p.m.
The girl was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, police said. All four people have burns, paramedics said.
None of the victims are believed to be in life-threatening condition, paramedics said.
There is not yet any word on what caused the explosion.
According to police, the scene is under control after residences on either side of where the incident happened were evacuated. Investigators from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal also attended.
Some of the residents in two of the houses near the scene have been able to return home.
Police say they will remain on the scene to monitor the situation overnight along with Brampton Fire.
