Brampton firefighters rescue dog trapped under dock
'She does like to swim … probably a little bit too much,' dog's owner says after rescue
The Brampton fire department was called in overnight to rescue an over-excited dog who managed to get trapped under a dock.
Megan George, the dog's owner, took the pup out with her brother to feed the ducks in Chinguacousy Park before bed. That's when Moka, a half-husky half-miniature collie, got excited and chased after the ducks into the water. After briefly swimming underwater, Moka wound up trapped under the dock.
"She was howling and starting to freak out," George told CBC News.

Brampton Fire's technical response team responded to the call and firefighters in drysuits went into the water to free the dog.
Capt. Rick Saran said Moka "was very happy to be out," when his team freed her.
While George said she felt terrible that the firefighters had to clamber into the cold water, Saran said his team is always eager to help out.
"We're ready for just about everything," he said.
Moka was fine following the event, and her owner said she'll definitely keep the dog on a tighter leash around ducks in the future.
"She does like to swim … probably a little bit too much," George said, with a laugh.
