A raging fire that consumed multiple houses under construction in Brampton Thursday flared up for a third time overnight.

Fire crews returned to the scene at McVean and Countryside drives early Friday morning as several of the houses were consumed in flames again after the fire had started up for a second time Thursday evening.

Brampton fire officials said yesterday that six homes had burned in the original fire, which started around 2:30 p.m., and no one was hurt in the blaze.

No word yet on how many houses were consumed in the overnight fire.

As of 5:30 a.m. fire crews had managed to put out the main fire in the subdivision. But officials said several trucks will stay on scene to work on putting out hotspots.

Investigators are expected to attend the scene later this morning to determine the cause of the fire.
