Seven people have been transported to local hospitals after a two-vehicle collision near Downsview Park, including several who suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Toronto police say they were called to the scene of the collision at Sheppard Avenue West and Kodiak Crescent shortly after 11:30 a.m.

Initial reports from the scene suggested that one person had been trapped as a result of the crash.

While one person was initially reported to have been transported to hospital, a Toronto EMS spokesperson told CBC News that all seven passengers were taken for treatment in the end.

Three people suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash, while the other four people had minor injuries.

The TTC said that its 84 Sheppard West and 106 York University buses were diverting after the crash, but reported on Wednesday afternoon that regular service had resumed on those routes.
