New book reveals what being poor and homeless looks like in Sudbury

It took three photo shoots over roughly five years to put it together, but now a new book about poverty has finally been launched. The book, called AboutFace, is the result of a partnership between the Graphic Design Program at Cambrian College and the Samaritan Centre in downtown Sudbury. The Samaritan Centre houses the Elgin Street Mission, Blue Door Café, and Corner Clinic, which serve Sudbury's less fortunate citizens. For the last few years, a team of 16 students and faculty interviewed and photographed more than 40 people who frequent the Samaritan Centre. The result is a book in which they've shared their stories, struggles, hopes and dreams. Up North's Wendy Bird went down to the book launch today to learn more.
