Man dies while swimming near Thunder Bay's Marina Park

The death of a man who had been swimming in Lake Superior near Marina Park is under investigation by police in Thunder Bay, Ont.
First responders were dispatched to the area at about 6 p.m. ET Monday following a 911 call, police said.
The caller said a male was swimming but had not returned to shore.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue sent a boat to the area where the swimmer was last seen, and firefighters located him a short time later.
He was pronounced dead, despite the efforts of firefighters and paramedics.
No further details have yet been provided.
Police said officers with the major crimes unit are investigating and a post-mortem is pending.
