Downie 'winding down the pines' on James Bay fishing trip
After emotional tour, members of the Hip taking time off to enjoy fishing along the James Bay coast
After a hectic tour, one that some claimed was a "national celebration," Gord Downie and members of the Tragically Hip took to winding down in a truly Canadian way — by taking a fishing trip along the James Bay Coast.
The band, along with Canadian novelist Joseph Boyden, was led along the coast by aboriginal guides.
On their arrival in northern Ontario, Downie took time to pose for pictures.
Catherine Cheechoo tweeted a picture of her standing with Downie, and said "& then this happened :O Much luv n thanks #GordDownie U r truly a kind soul."
- In an earlier story, CBC reported that Gord Downie was in Attawapiskat. He is currently not in Attawapiskat. Reports indicate that Downie and company were fishing along the James Bay coast.Aug 24, 2016 9:32 AM ET
