Three killed in fatal Highway 11/17 crash west of Thunder Bay, Ont.

Provincial police said the collision involved two tractor trailers on Highway 11/17 between the Highway 11 and 102 junctions.

Three people were killed in a crash between two transport trucks on the Trans-Canada west of Thunder Bay.

Ontario Provincial Police said the driver and passenger in one vehicle, as well as the driver of the other vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Highway 11/17 about five kilometres west of the Highway 102 junction.

Identification of the victims is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The highway remains closed and there is no detour available.
