A two-year-old boy is dead after being hit by a truck Wednesday night in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, a remote First Nation about 600 kilometres north of Thunder Bay, Ont.
Provincial police said the incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Sakeetawanakak Road in the community formerly known as Big Trout Lake First Nation.
Police are investigating but few other details are available.
A critical incident stress response and Ontario Provincial Police liaison team will be providing support to the community and responders, according to police.
