Collision at Highway 11/17, Red River Rd. injures pedestrian

Police say a vehicle struck a 27-year-old man early Sunday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say a vehicle struck a pedestrian on Highway 11/17 at Red River Road and Dawson Road in Thunder Bay early Sunday morning. 

Police said a 27-year-old man was seriously injured. As of Sunday evening, he was still in hospital, they added. 

While investigating the accident Sunday morning, police closed the eastbound Red River Road on-ramp and the eastbound left-turn lane from Dawson Road onto the highway.  Access to the highway re-opened by Sunday afternoon.
