Body of Ian McCauley recovered from Whitefish Lake
Father of 6 from M'Chigeeng First Nation went missing on weekend
Provincial Police continue to investigate a weekend drowning on Manitoulin Island.
Police said Ian McCauley, a 41-year old father of six from M'Chigeeng First Nation, went missing early Saturday morning in Whitefish Lake.
McCauley accompanied a group onto the lake in a pontoon boat, and dove into the lake.
He never resurfaced.
The O-P-P Underwater Search and Recovery Unit was called in and McCauley's body was found soon after.
Police say there were no life jackets on the boat, and alcohol was a factor in the drowning.
A post-mortem is now being conducted by the coroner in Sudbury.
Police remind everyone to avoid consuming alcohol before heading out boating.
