Kirkland Lake fire now under control

The town of Kirkland Lake can breathe a collective sigh of relief as recent rains and fire suppression efforts have brought the 2,300-hectare fire under control.

The Ministry of Natural Resources now lists the fire in that area as under control and said that means the fire is no longer expected to spread.

The town's state of emergency was also lifted yesterday.
