Sudbury police confirm murder-suicide in death of 3 people in Coniston, Ont., home

Sudbury police say they are investigating the deaths of three people in a Coniston home, in Greater Sudbury, Ont., as a murder-suicide.

Sudbury police say they are investigating the deaths of three people in a Coniston home, in Greater Sudbury, Ont., as a murder-suicide.

Police identified the three people as Brian Desormeaux, 46, Janet Desormeaux, 43, and Ashton Desormeaux, 17. They were a father, mother and son who all lived in the home on Caruso Street.

"This is an extremely tragic situation that has deeply impacted families, friends and the community," police said in a press release.

"Our deepest condolences go out to everyone who has been affected by this incident and we ask that you respect the privacy of the family's loved ones during this very emotional time."

Police said they were called to the home at 6:20 p.m. on Sunday.

When officers arrived, they found the three deceased family members.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
