Andre Lamothe, 58, dies in Hwy 11 head-on collision

Ontario Provincial Police say one man is dead after a head-on collision with a transport truck three kilometres south of New Liskeard Thursday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say one man is dead after an early morning collision with a transport truck, three kilometres south of New Liskeard Thursday. 

The head-on collision occurred on Highway 11 at Seeds Road, involving a southbound tractor trailer and a northbound Honda Civic. 

The driver of the tractor trailer, 59-year-old Mississauga resident Eugeniusz Wietczak, was transported by Temiskaming Ambulance to the hospital to for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda Civic, 58-year-old North Cobalt resident Andre Lamothe, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the vehicles.

Haileybury Fire Department attended the scene and OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation. 

Highway 11 has been re-opened.
