Calling emerging filmmakers! Short Film Face Off is looking for your films
Deadline for submissions is March 31
Consider submitting your work to the 15th season of Short Film Face Off, premiering this August on CBC TV and CBC Gem, with host Amanda Parris.
The CBC is looking for short films from every region of the country to be presented on the program.
Short Film Face Off will broadcast nine films along with commentaries from the filmmakers. A panel of industry professionals provides perspective on the creative and technical aspects of the films.
The home viewing audience votes for their favorite film. All nine films will be in the running.
The winning filmmaker will receive the Telefilm Canada award of $30,000 to be used for their next film. Submission is FREE! Each filmmaker will receive a license fee.
So what are we looking for:
Films must be in the English language and under 12 minutes in length, not including credits, and must have been completed in the past 3 years (after July 1, 2018).
The filmmaker must be a Canadian resident and at least 19 years of age.
We are looking for comedies and dramas. Live action and animation are eligible. Music videos or documentaries are NOT eligible.
The content must be suitable for a family audience in the 7 p.m. timeslot at the discretion of CBC.
We accept films that have been screened at film festivals, other public venues or previously broadcast on television.
The producer or director must own or hold all rights to the film including music.
The producer or director will be required to sign an agreement giving Short Film Face Off the right to license the film to be broadcast on CBC television and CBC websites.
There cannot be any agreements or negotiations that would hamper or prevent the film from being broadcast on CBC TV or CBC websites including CBC Gem.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS MARCH 31, 2022.
