A fourth suspect has been charged in the death of a 27-year-old man, who died from a gunshot wound last summer in Saskatoon.

Tyler Applegate was found on July 22 suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen, and was transported to the Royal University Hospital. He died from the injury nearly three weeks later.

Saskatoon police said the fourth suspect in the case was arrested Wednesday morning, and charged with second-degree murder, as well as discharging a firearm while being reckless in the safety of another person. Police said they do not expect to lay charges against any other suspects.

Earlier this month, police had arrested and charged three others in relation to Applegate's death — two men and a woman. All three are facing manslaughter charges, as well as with being an accessory after the fact to the discharge of a firearm while being reckless to the life and safety of another person.

Police said the incident occurred after Applegate had confronted a man urinating on the fence at Applegate's home and that the victim and the suspect were unknown to each other.
