RCMP found one adult and a child dead inside a trailer that went up in flames on the Montreal Lake Cree Nation on Friday.

The news comes a day after RCMP reported a man being sent to hospital with serious injuries after the fire broke out. The man has since been released from hospital, RCMP said.

At 4:30 a.m. CST on Friday, police received a call that a trailer was on fire. By the time they arrived, the mobile home was completely in flames.

In a news release on Friday, RCMP said "it is unknown if any other occupants are inside the residence."

In the update, referencing the discovery of the two found dead, investigators said they are working to identify the victims. Autopsies were scheduled to be held next week in Saskatoon.

The province's Emergency Management and Fire Safety branch is helping RCMP in the investigation. The province also dispatched a Rapid Response Team to provide support.
