Saskatoon pediatrician charged with trying to arrange sex with minor

A 49-year-old pediatrician at the University of Saskatchewan's college of medicine is accused of trying to use the internet to arrange for sex with a minor.

Ramkumar Natarajan appeared in Saskatoon provincial court Friday morning.

He is charged with trying to arrange sex with someone under the age 18 and using an electronic device to facilitate that interaction.

Court documents allege these interactions happened on Feb. 20 and March 21.

Police said in a news release that he was arrested without incident.

Natarajan was released with conditions that he not use the internet or cell phones except for work and that he inform the College of Physicians and Surgeons of the charges and conditions.

He is scheduled to return to court April 9.
