Saskatoon police say there has been a rash of garage break-ins within the last couple of months.

Police said there have been more than 40 reports since October of thieves breaking into garages with wooden overhead doors by removing one of the panels.

Tools, snowblowers and snowmobiles have been stolen.

Police are encouraging citizens to report any cases, even if nothing has been stolen.

They also recommend adding video cameras and motion lights to deter thieves.

Anyone with information regarding these or other break-ins can call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
