Another big road construction project is underway today.

The province is re-building Highway 16 over the Idylwyld Drive overpass, a project that could take as long as three months to complete.

This will mean the following changes for drivers:

  • Traffic is reduced to one lane in both directions on Idylwyld Drive between 51st and 60th Streets.
  • Traffic is down to one lane in each direction on Highway 16 between Idylwyld and Marquis Drives.
  • Expect temporary traffic signals at Idylwyld Drive southbound for Highway 16 westbound.

There is some good news for commuters, though. The work over on Wanuskewin Road should be completed by Thursday, and will be able to ease some of the pressure through this latest construction zone.
