Estevan Fuenzalida denied bail in Dustin Boulet murder

A Court of Queen's Bench justice denied Estevan Fuenzalida bail in the Dustin Boulet murder case.

Charged with accessory after the fact and carrying a knife

A Saskatoon man charged for his alleged role in the death of 29-year-old Dustin Boulet is staying behind bars.

Estevan Fuenzalida, 24, is charged with being an accessory after the fact and carrying a knife. Police say that Fuenzalida was with 27-year-old Nathan Joseph.

Joseph is charged with second degree murder.

A Queen's Bench justice heard lawyers argue for and against Fuenzalida's release on bail. She ruled against letting him out. The evidence presented at the hearing, and the judge's reasons for denying bail, cannot be reported because of a publication ban.

Fuenzalida will be able to re-apply for bail after his preliminary hearing.

Boulet died on his 29th birthday while celebrating at a local bar. Witnesses told CBC that he was fatally stabbed trying to help a friend who had been attacked in a parking lot fight.
