Saskatoon firefighters battled a blaze in the north end of the city early Tuesday morning that caused an estimated $350,000 in damage.

Fire crews were called to the 400 block of 44th Street East just after 4 a.m CST, where they found a building emitting heavy black smoke.

The crews forced their way into the building and found a semi-truck ablaze. It was determined the fire started in the semi and then spread to the ceiling of the building.

Other parts of the building were heavily damaged by smoke.

No one was in the building and there were no injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
