Saskatoon's Nutana Collegiate to resume classes Tuesday

A water main break temporary shut down Nutana Collegiate on Monday. Now, it's under a precautionary drinking water advisory.

School now under precautionary drinking water advisory

Classes at Nutana Collegiate were cancelled Monday after a water main break.

Students of Nutana Collegiate will be back in class Tuesday after a water main was repaired in the neighbourhood.

The main break meant water was cut off to the school on Monday, and Saskatoon Public Schools cancelled classes there.

The division sent out a press release later in the afternoon, saying the school is now under a precautionary drinking water advisory.

"This advisory is put in place to ensure there is no contamination to the water line following the water main break," reads the release. "The advisory is expected to be in place for a few days while water sampling is completed."

As the guidelines from the Saskatoon Health Region advise, water from the school should not be consumed.

Students are being asked to bring water bottles from home to drink at school until the advisory is lifted.
