Police have found what they believe to be the body of an adult man in a burned-out vehicle.

On Friday afternoon, RCMP were called to a car that was "fully engulfed in flames" on Highway 4, between the city of North Battleford and the Mosquito First Nation.

After firefighters put out the blaze, they found the body in the back seat.

Police discovered that, earlier in the day, five people were given a ride to the reserve by a couple driving the car.

RCMP would like to talk to the couple, as well as anyone else who may have seen the car that day. The five passengers in the car have all been interviewed by police.

The car is described as a blue four-door 2006 Hyundai Elantra.

An autopsy on the remains is scheduled for Wednesday in Saskatoon.
