Fire crews battle blaze at auto wrecking yard near Martensville

Fire crews from Saskatoon and Martensville were kept busy at a fire at an auto wrecking yard Thursday night.

Trash fire sent fire crews scrambling, cause not known

Fire crews from Saskatoon and Martensville were kept busy at a fire at an auto wrecking yard Thursday night.

Crews were called to Affiliated Auto Wrecking on Highway 12 just south of Martensville at around 8:20 p.m. CST. When they arrived, they saw thick smoke and flames coming from the north side of the main building.

Fire crews started spraying water and foam on the fire to stop it from spreading. At one point, more crews were called in from Martensville to help.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in around one hour.

No one was injured. It's still not clear how the fire started.
