Saskatoon police have arrested a 20-year-old man after a machete attack Monday night.

Police say they found an injured man on the 1800 block of 22nd St. W. at about 11:15 p.m. CST. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers arrested the suspect nearby. He's facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, mischief, breach of probation and meth possession.

Police said the victim and suspect knew each other.

The accused will make his first appearance in Saskatoon provincial court on Tuesday morning.
