RCMP have laid charges against a Yorkton, Sask., man who is accused of approaching several women on the street, allegedly assaulting one of them.

Curtis Pawliw, 23, has been charged with soliciting on April 5 and assault on March 19. In both cases, young women walking on the street said they had been approached by a man in a pickup truck.

Pawliw was arrested Tuesday. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to be back in court on May 30.

RCMP had previously been investigating whether the March 19 incident was connected to another case of alleged assault and attempted abduction that occurred on March 30. In that instance a man in a truck grabbed a woman on the street after asking her for directions.

Sketches of the suspect based on witness descriptions were released to the media.

Police have not charged Pawliw in connection with the March 30 incident, but said they are continuing to investigate.
