Three people are facing charges after RCMP officers seized $430,000 worth of marijuana plants from a residence in Richmound, Saskatchewan.

The major drug bust came after a routine traffic stop in the town west of Swift Current on Friday.

That evening, the RCMP's Leader detachment seized what it says is a significant amount of cannabis from a vehicle. An adult male and female were arrested and charged for possession with the intent of trafficking the drug.

From those arrests, constables were able to execute a search warrant at a home in the town on Saturday morning. Officers found a sophisticated grow operation there, including 433 marijuana plants.

In total, three people were charged with offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, including production of marijuana and possession with the intent to sell.
