Man charged following SWAT call in Regina

Charges have been laid following a SWAT call on Thursday night in Regina.

Police say the special weapons and tactics team was sent to the 1600 block of Toronto Street. 

Six people were taken into custody without incident.

Police searched a home and found bullets and substances believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to a Friday news release from the Regina Police Service.

A 35-year-old Regina man has been charged with possession of firearm ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, failure to comply with a release order, and possession of a scheduled substance. 

Residents in the area were asked to shelter in place during the incident.
