Shotgun found in stolen car, teens charged

Two teenagers, a stolen car and a loaded sawed-off shotgun kept Saskatoon police busy early Friday morning.

Two teenagers, a stolen car and a loaded sawed-off shotgun kept Saskatoon police busy early Friday morning.

At around 2 a.m. CST, officers spotted a car driving erratically on the 200 block of Avenue I South on the west side of town.

The police car turned around to follow it and the suspect vehicle sped away.

When police caught up with it several blocks away, it had crashed into a fence.

Police arrested the 18-year-old man who was at the wheel as well as a 15-year-old boy who was a passenger.

They also found a loaded, sawed-off shotgun on the front seat of the car, which had been stolen.

The two suspects now face seven firearms charges and both have been charged with auto theft. The driver also received two traffic tickets.
