Saskatoon fire kills 2 dogs, destroys house and garage

A garage fire that began spreading to a house in the 300 block of Johnson Crescent killed two dogs early Saturday morning.

No people were home at the time, and cause of fire is under investigation

A garage fire that began spreading to a house in the 300 block of Johnson Crescent killed two dogs early Saturday morning.

The Saskatoon Fire Department said they were called to the fire around 1 a.m. CST. They arrived to find a detached garage engulfed in flames with fire spreading to the back of the house. Power lines had fallen near the property. 

Two occupants of the house had been unaccounted for, but it was later confirmed that they weren't in the house at the time of the fire. Two dogs were killed in the fire. 

The house and garage are considered total losses, according to the fire department. 

The fire's cause remains under investigation.
