Saskatchewan tornado, thunderstorm watches issued

All southern regions are under either a tornado watch or a severe thunderstorm watch.

More communities added to tornado watch list

Environment Canada has issued either severe thunderstorm watches or tornado watches for all of central and southern Saskatchewan. (Environment Canada)

Environment Canada has issued several severe thunderstorm watches and some tornado watches for the entire southern region of the province. 

As of 1 p.m. CST, there were tornado watches in effect for the following areas:

  • City of Regina
  • Fort Qu'Appelle - Indian Head - Lumsden - Pilot Butte
  • Humboldt - Wynyard - Wadena - Lanigan - Foam Lake
  • Kamsack - Canora - Preeceville
  • Moose Jaw - Pense - Central Butte - Craik
  • Outlook - Watrous - Hanley - Imperial - Dinsmore
  • Yorkton - Melville - Esterhazy
  • ​Estevan - Weyburn - Radville - Milestone
  • Moosomin - Grenfell - Kipling - Wawota 
  • Carlyle - Oxbow - Carnduff - Bienfait - Stoughton 

​As of the same time, Environment Canada issued severe thunderstorm watches for the following areas:

  • Assiniboia - Gravelbourg - Coronach
  • City of Saskatoon
  • Hudson Bay - Porcupine Plain
  • Kindersley - Rosetown - Biggar - Wilkie - Macklin
  • Leader - Gull Lake
  • Martensville - Warman - Rosthern - Delisle - Wakaw
  • ​Meadow Lake - Big River - Green Lake - Pierceland
  • Melfort - Tisdale - Nipawin - Carrot River
  • Prince Albert - Shellbrook - Spiritwood - Duck Lake
  • Shaunavon - Maple Creek - Val Marie - Cypress Hills
  • Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle - Lucky Lake
