Saskatchewan soldier to be laid to rest
On the same day three more Canadians were killed in Afghanistan, a Saskatchewan soldier was to be laid to rest Wednesday.
Cpl. Dustin Wasden died Aug. 20 while on patrol in the same region as the men killed in the latest attack.
Wasden's funeral was set for Wednesday afternoon in the community of Spiritwood, north of Saskatoon.
The ceremony was to take place in a hockey arena named after two RCMP officers who were shot and killed in the line of duty near Spiritwood.
Wasden leaves behind a wife and five-year-old daughter.
Three Canadian soldiers were killed and five wounded in the attack Wednesday in southern Afghanistan.
